General Studies
Program Description
The Associate of Science or A.S. in General Studies allows you to pursue two-year sequences of general and professional coursework to prepare for employment or continue your post-secondary education at the baccalaureate level.
This A.S. program is an individualized, multi-disciplinary program which requires 63 to 65 credit hours. This is broken into 30 to 32 credits of coursework in communications, social sciences, humanities, mathematics, and science and 33 credits of electives.
The baccalaureate program you choose and the requirements of the institution to which you plan to transfer will help you select appropriate elective courses. This way, you will be able to enter the bachelor’s program as a junior and then complete the baccalaureate degree in two years. Please review these options with your advisor, consult the current catalog of the institution to which you wish to transfer and contact that institution directly.
