Professional Certificates for Funeral Directors Ivy Tech is an approved sponsor of continuing education units (ceu's) for funeral directors. Embalming Techniques This three hour seminar will discuss modifications in these areas: receiving, sanitation, cleaning, and positioning on table; autopsy procedures; cavity preservation; suturing; handling of "special cases"; cosmetics, dressing & casketing; handling visitation; and hair care and treatment of special cosmetic difficulties. A certificate of attendance will be given. Prerequisite: Must be a licensed funeral director. This seminar is for continuing education units (ceu's) only. TBA Customer Loyalty Through Personalization This two hour seminar is a survival guide for a funeral business. The seminar will discuss reasons why customer loyalty can be cost-effective, creative and practical approaches in product personalization, marketing longevity of personalized keepsakes. A certificate of attendance will be given. Prerequisite: Must be a licensed funeral director. This seminar is for continuing education units (ceu's) only. TBA New Creative & Cost Effective Marketing This two hour seminar will discuss creative and cost effective marketing tools to use to market your business. One tool discussed is how to use the Internet to market your business. The seminar will cover: understanding the importance of creative public relations and "thinking outside of the box" vs paid advertisement, how to use press releases and other creative public relations tools to publicize information over the Internet.
