  • Internet classes are listed in the College's Schedule of Classes along with traditional classes. "Distance Education" will be shown instead of the class days and hours. Also, Distance Education classes will have a course number of 1 or 2 + two or three letters (e.g., 2AA or 1BAV).
  • Contact your program advisor. If you do not have a program advisor, contact the campus nearest you and ask for an advisor in the Division through which you will be taking the course.
  • Check Ivy Tech Community College's regional distance education web site
  • Check the state web site at http://www.ivytech.edu
Register for a Distance Education Course Registering for a Distance Education course follows many of the same procedures as registering for a traditional course.
  • Apply for admission.
If you have not attended Ivy Tech Community College previously, you must apply for admission. If you haven't attended Ivy Tech State College for the past two years, you must re-apply for admission. You can obtain the Application for Admission form from the Admissions Office at any campus. There is no charge to apply for admission.
  • Contact the Financial Aid Office
If you are eligible to receive financial aid you need to complete the necessary forms.
Meet with your Program Advisor Your advisor will assist you in:
  • determining which classes you will need to take.
  • completing a Course Registration form
    • During early registration and late registration, it is best to make an appointment with your advisor.
    • During regular registration, registration may be done on a walk-in basis.
    • Contact the campus nearest you for registration time periods. Students are encouraged to register early for all classes, including Distance Education courses, to hold their place in the course they wish to take, as Distance Education classes fill up quickly.
Process your Course Registration Your course registration will be completed and signed by you and your program advisor.
  • You will then take the course registration and any other necessary forms to Student Services for processing.
  • Payment for your courses is due at the time of registration. The College accepts cash, check (with valid identification), Visa and MasterCard. Under certain circumstances, students may be able to request a deferred payment plan. To determine your eligibility for a deferred payment plan and any required fees, contact the Student Services office.
