IVY TECH FOUNDATION RECEIVES CONTRIBUTION FROM LOCAL REALTOR The Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana Foundation received a contribution from a local realtor for the new campus capital campaign. Valerie Rosenblum, Multi-Million Dollar Realtor, with F. C. Tucker NW IN, Realtors, pledged to the Ivy Tech Foundation that she would donate 10 percent of her fee in the purchase or sale of real estate to anyone who wishes to help Ivy Tech grow.

Rosenblum’s first contribution to Ivy Tech came after the sale of Melva and Ed Brooke’s home in North Judson, Indiana. Melva Brooke, who works at the Valparaiso campus as a network technician in the Computer Operations department said, “Valerie was so efficient and knowledgeable that she sold our house in seven days. I am honored that she is donating a percentage of her commission to Ivy Tech in my name.” Valerie Rosenblum presents check to Ivy Tech Foundation

Rosenblum’s donation will be applied to Ivy Tech’s Capital Campaign for Northwest Indiana. In just over one year, with the help of 80 plus volunteers, the College has been successful in raising 80% of the $2 million goal or $1,609,179 to date in cash pledges and in kind contributions. The monies will help supplement state funding to purchase state of the art equipment and expand academic programs.

Rosenblum said, “I am pleased to make a gift from my commission to the College. Under the plan, my client could be any individual with a desire to assist Ivy Tech and need not be a member of the Ivy Tech family like Melva and Ed.” All that is required is that they say, “I too would like to help Ivy Tech grow,” Rosenblum said.

Rosenblum’s contribution will be matched with 50 cents to the $1 as a result of the recent statewide Lilly Endowment Initiative. Any other contributions to Ivy Tech Foundation received through December 31, 2006 will also be matched by this initiative.
