Ivy Tech Announces the Opening of the New Valparaiso Campus
Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana is excited to announce the anticipated opening of the new Valparaiso Campus located at 3100 Ivy Tech Drive in the Eastporte Industrial Centre. Officials have announced Phase I construction, an 86,000 square foot campus, is nearing completion with the move taking place beginning in May.
All administrative operations, most academic programs, bookstore, library, student affairs, financial aid, business office, and other administrators will move to the new campus with plans to become fully operational by June 26th.
The Valley Drive Campus will remain in use for students in the Associate of Science in Nursing program, Practical Nursing program, and for students taking science classes until phase 2 construction is completed.
The first academic programs to be moved will be those in the Technology Division. The programs which include Manufacturing and Industrial Technology and Design Technology will hold classes at the new campus for the summer session beginning May 30th. All other classes for summer will remain at the Valley Drive location.
Ivy Tech’s Valparaiso campus has more than 1800 students attending each semester. The new campus is designed to provide a supportive environment for learning. The campus will have a cyber café, several areas for student gathering and areas for students to work together in small groups.
The College has designed and planned for the second phase of construction. Once funding is secured, the College will move forward with the second phase.
