Ivy Tech Community College Northwest's East Chicago De La Garza campus will host the Second Annual Energy Fair, October 13 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the campus at 410 E. Columbus Drive. The fair will feature new energy products and services, education on ways to reduce costs, and information on how to apply for energy assistance. NIPSCO, along with the American Association of Blacks in Energy and the Lake County Energy Task Force, invite the public to participate.

In addition local fire department officials will be on hand to spread the important message of staying safe during the winter heating season, which includes the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in the home. Indiana Underground Plant Protection Services (IUPPS) will be there to discuss the importance of calling before you dig.
