IVY TECH HOSTS PICNIC ON THE PATIO FOR TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY SCHOLARS
Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana Northwest is hosting Twenty-first Century Scholars to a Picnic on the Patio with Chancellor J. Guadalupe Valtierra at the Valparaiso Campus on June 21st from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. This networking event will help Twenty-first Century scholars to understand the importance of making contacts to help build their careers. Scholars will get to meet the chancellor, counselors, faculty, and other staff.
The state-funded Twenty-first Century Scholars program provides qualifying low-income students with pre-college support services and the promise of full in-state tuition. Scholars must fulfill a pledge to be good citizens and qualify for admission into an Indiana college or university.
Nearly 75 Twenty-first Century Scholars enrolled at Ivy Tech's Valparaiso campus are offered additional support funded by Lumina Foundation for Education. The Ivy Tech program offers academic preparation, campus engagement, personal development, faculty mentoring and intervention, financial literacy, and peer tutoring.
