Gary- Ivy Tech Chancellor J. Guadalupe Valtierra and Kappa Beta Delta Honor Society presented 376 dictionaries to fifth and sixth graders at Ernie Pyle Elementary School in Gary on January 22. Ernie Pyle principal, Dr. Lillian Washington arranged a special convocation for the dictionary presentation. Chancellor Valtierra expressed the importance Ivy Tech could play in the students' future. Dictionaries were purchased from The Dictionary Project located in Charleston, North Carolina. The Dictionary Project has helped distribute approximately two million student dictionaries to schools across the country.
