IVY TECH COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF INDIANA PRESIDENT
TO ATTEND LEAD CONFERENCE
Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana President Thomas Snyder will be addressing the LEAD '08 conference at the Ivy Tech-Northwest Valparaiso Campus on Friday, March 28, 2008.
Snyder will share his views on the importance of being an effective leader to 300 students, faculty, and staff. LEAD is a consortium of Ivy Tech Community College, Calumet College, Indiana University Northwest, Purdue University Calumet, Purdue University North Central, St. Joseph’s College, and Valparaiso University. The Consortium annually sponsors a conference to expose the students to various aspects of leadership.
Following the LEAD conference, President Snyder will be inducted as an honorary member of Kappa Beta Delta, an international two-year business honor society.
Snyder has been president of Ivy Tech since July 1, 2007. Prior to becoming president of the college, he chaired (2006-2007) the Anderson, Indiana-headquartered Flagship Energy Systems Center (FESC), a consortium of educational, engineering and industry leadership dedicated to the development of business incubators and early businesses accelerators for emerging energy and electronic technologies. From 1994-2006 Snyder held the position as president and CEO of Delco Remy International, Inc., in Anderson.
