● Students who join must be committed to following through with the program and attending all required meetings. There will be four campus meetings throughout the school year- one at each campus. In addition, members are required to attend Ivy Tech Day at the Legislature and a local Leadership conference that Ivy Tech partners with other local colleges and universities to host each year.

● In addition to the above, we may plan an orientation meeting in late September/ early October so students can get a brief overview of SLA and meet their fellow student members in Region 1.

Joining SLA is a great way to refine your leadership skills and network with other student leaders. It's also a great addition to your resume. Student Leadership Academy Schedule Below is the general schedule for SLA for the academic year. In order to complete the program, attendance is required for the following:

• October - SLA Kickoff- Indianapolis
• November - Meeting- Gary Campus
• December - Meeting- East Chicago Campus
• January - Meeting- Michigan City Campus
• February - Ivy Tech Day at the Legislature- Statehouse, Indianapolis
• March - Meeting- Valparaiso Campus
• March - LEAD Conference- NW Indiana
• April - SLA Capstone Conference (2 days)- Indianapolis
